Safety & Maintenance
Gasoline generators must be operated and maintained carefully. Follow the owner manual and local safety rules at all times.
Critical safety notes
- Operate only outdoors. Carbon monoxide can be deadly.
- Keep the generator away from doors, windows, vents, and enclosed spaces.
- Do not operate in rain or wet conditions unless properly protected according to the manual.
- Let the engine cool before refueling.
- Use properly rated cords and never overload the generator.
Maintenance basics
- Check oil before each use.
- Replace oil after the break-in period and at the schedule in the manual.
- Clean or replace the air filter as needed.
- Drain or stabilize fuel before long-term storage.
- Inspect bolts, vents, cords, and plugs regularly.
